Well 2015 has been a unique experience for us so far.... when people told us that the arrival of babies spurred the departure of sleep, we brushed off such comments thinking it to be nonsense or the failings of 'flighty parenting'......errm.....apparently not!!
Young Caspian has settled in well (at the helm of the ship) and we all love him, even the dogs who were initially rather disappointed by his arrival. However, now Lili, the younger of the two, guards his cot as he sleeps which is rather sweet.
Thank goodness we decided to give the horses the winter off as there is no possible way we would have managed to keep them all fit with a newborn, especially not after a c.section, but now we have found a rhythm things all seem to be fitting into place and we are very excited about the approaching display season.
We have set up an indoor round pen to do liberty work in the barn, which is proving to be very useful now that we are getting the horses fit again and we have some great ideas of improvements for the shows this year.
One separate idea we have had is to put on an equestrian theatre performance over a weekend during Summer and we are currently exploring avenues and ideas for this.
Anyone who is horsey and has skills either as an actor or backstage is invited to come forward and get involved as it is going to be a rather large but very enjoyable project and we will need all the help and support we can get.
If you can't be involved but you have an idea that might work do please let us know, nothing is too bonkers believe me!
At the moment we are exploring doing a very abridged version of a midsummer nights dream with horses and horse acts etc. but if you have a better idea please air it, it would be most appreciated as this is rather new territory for us.
Anyhow, my alarm just went which means its time for Caspian's 4pm bottle and I had better wrap this up as to delay would be unwise for the peace and tranquillity of the house which you can see from the below photo is blissfully peaceful, but how things can change!! Its a bit tragic that I have to set myself an alarm to feed my child, but time keeping has never been my strong point and it pays to acknowledge one's weaknesses in situations such as this lol!
